Carmel Bassi, age 89, of Granville passed away Friday in St. Margaret’s Hospital.  Arrangements are pending with Dysart- Cofoid Funeral Chapel in Granville.

54-year-old Randy Friestad of Dayton Township died Thursday at his home. Funeral services will be 10a.m. Monday at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa. Burial will be in Freedom Lutheran Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2 to 6p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. He is survived by his mother, Mary Lou of Ottawa; children, Jason and Josh of Ottawa and Jenny Peters of La Salle; two granddaughters, and one sister. Randy Friestad farmed for 35 years.

90 year old Lorraine Burd of Earlville died Wednesday at Mendota Community Hospital. Services will be at 10:30a.m. Monday at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church in Earlville.  Burial will be in St. Theresa Cemetery in Earlville. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the church.  Arrangements are through the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa. She’s survived by her children, Cindy Noel of Earlville and Larry Burd of Earlville; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two sisters. Lorraine Burd worked as a bartender at the VFW in Mendota and at other places.

91 year old Doctor William Farley died Thursday at his home in Peru. Arrangements for Dr. William Farley are pending with the Mueller Funeral Home in Peru.

83 year old Reverend Charles Upson of La Salle died Wednesday at Heritage Health Nursing Center in Peru. Cremation rites have been accorded and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Hurst Funeral Home is handling arrangements. He’s survived by his wife Roberta of La Salle; daughters Patricia Elsbury of Utica, Linda Liebmann and Sandra Upson both of Nevada; son Charles of Nevada; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Rev. Charles Upson was a retired Minister with Assemblies of God.

76 year old Mariantonia “Marie” Ernst of Peru died Tuesday at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Arrangements for Mariantonia “Marie” Ernst are pending with the Shimkus-Helmer-Staab Funeral Home in La Salle.

84 year old Raymond Ringenberg of Tiskilwa died Monday in Liberty Village of Princeton. Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are through the Fiocchi-Jensen Funeral Home in Princeton. He’s survived by his wife, Margaret; sons, Gary of Peoria and Rex of Oglesby; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Raymond Ringenberg had worked at the Tiskilwa State Bank for 38 years.

80 year old Charles Tonozzi of Granville died Sunday at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley. Services are Thursday at 10 at Dysart-Cofoid Funeral Chapel in Granville. Burial will be in Granville Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 6 until 8 at the funeral chapel. He’s survived by his son Chad of Mark; his sister Catherine Repulski of Peru; two grandsons; and many nieces and nephews. Charles Tonozzi was an engineer with Milwaukee Road Railroad.

81 year old Alta Buckley of Cedar Point died Thursday at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru. Graveside services are Saturday at 1 in Granville Cemetery. Helmer-Shields Funeral Home in Granville is handling arrangements. She’s survived by her daughter Dawn Hypke of Utica; sons Gary of Cedar Point, David of Mark and Harvey of Kansas; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Alta Buckley worked at Westclox and retired as a cashier at Walmart in Peru.

98 Jeanette Gealow of Peru, formerly Oglesby died Wednesday at Heritage Health in Peru. Her body has been donated to science. Jeanette Gealow is survived by her sons Jon of McHenry and Charles of Oglesby; daughter Dorothy Schultz of Oglesby; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
